Managing Director
Erik brings extensive leadership experience to the team. He is passionate about driving innovation and growth in cell therapy manufacturing. Under his guidance, Scinus continues to expand its impact in the biotech industry. Erik holds a MSc in Chemistry from the Radboud University Nijmegen and a PhD in Autoimmune Biochemistry from the same university.
Ruud Das, PhD
Chief Scientific Officer
Ruud has been with Scinus for over 15 years and is leading the scientific vision and development of the company. Ruud’s deep expertise ensures Scinus stays at the forefront of cell expansion technology. Ruud holds a MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology and a PhD in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Wouter Beenker, PhD
Project Manager and Scientist
Wouter leads all our grant projects as Project Manager, driving collaboration and innovation. He is also often found in the lab, combining hands-on experience with his project expertise to support successful outcomes. Wouter holds a MSc in Neuroscience and Cognition from Utrecht Univeristy and a PhD in Molecular Microbiology from the Hubrecht Institute.
Marijn Driessen, BSc
Lab Manager and After Sales Manager
Marijn has been with Scinus for almost 10 years, combining her roles as Lab Manager and After Sales Manager. She ensures smooth laboratory operations while also providing excellent support to our current customers. Marijn holds a BASc in Microbiology from Fontys University of Applied Science.
Michiel Jannink, PhD
Strategic Advisor
Michiel has been CEO of Scinus for almost 7 years, where he guided the company through its growth and international positioning. Alongside this, he combined his role as VP Life Science & Health at Demcon. He has now stepped into the role of Strategic Advisor at Scinus, where his experience and vision will continue to support the company’s development. Michiel holds an MSc in Human Movement Sciences from the University of Groningen and a PhD in Epidemiology from the VU Amsterdam.
Javier Olmos Becerra, MSc
PhD student
Javier works with the Osilaris on large fold expansion of adherent HEK293T cells, supporting viral vector production for CAR-T therapies. His efforts help optimize processes crucial for advanced gene and cell therapy manufacturing. Javier holds an MSc in Medical Biotechnology from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, and he is a PhD candidate at the University Medical Center in Groningen, in collaboration with Scinus Cell Expansion.
Claire Pappers, MSc
Business Development Manager
Claire plays a key role in building relationships with customers and driving growth. Her versatile marketing and account management skills help connect the company’s innovative solutions with market needs. Claire holds a MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology.
Silvano Paternoster, PhD
Strategic Marketing Manager
Silvano drives Scinus’ strategic marketing efforts and strengthens the company’s presence in the cell therapy field, aligning innovative solutions with the needs of researchers, clinicians, and industry partners. Silvano holds a MSc degree in Biotechnology from the University of Trento and Bologna and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Curtin University in Perth.
Iris Pijnenburg, MSc
Sr. Process Development Engineer
Iris focuses on optimizing various protocols, with a strong emphasis on adherent cell cultures. Her expertise helps improve efficiency and consistency across different processes. Iris holds a MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology.
Rens Roosloot
Technology Manager
Rens has been with Scinus for almost 15 years, leading the development of the Osilaris. He is deeply involved in continuous improvements and additions to the current platform, ensuring it meets the evolving needs. His extensive experience and practical approach ensure that Scinus continues to deliver reliable and cutting-edge solutions in cell expansion technology.
Juda-El Sam, MSc
Sr. Process Development Engineer
Juda-El mainly focuses on iPSC and organoid culture, developing protocols to support scalable and high-quality cell growth. Her work contributes to expanding the applications of the Osilaris in advanced cell therapies and research. Juda-El holds a MSc in Medical Biology from the Radboud University Nijmegen.

QA/RA Manager
Agata ensures our quality management system runs smoothly and meets all regulatory requirements. Her attention to detail helps maintain high standards across all processes. Agata holds a MSc in Technical Physics from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
